Fantastic views from second floor balcony, first row. Entry and exit of venue were smooth and easy. Would be five stars if they opened the seats at the same time as the doors. Had to stand around waiting for about 30 minutes to get access to seats.
Food and beverage prices were high, as you'd expect.
Sound levels and views were everything you would want them to be.
Easy walking distance to lodging and dining options.
Would absolutely visit for a show again.
We saw LĪVE Unplugged and it was magical! One of the great, underrated bands of the 90s in a theater that holds ~1600 people. Easy to get in and out, parked in the Boston Common Garage and easily walkable from many great restaurants.
If sitting in top balcony seats, skip row A. The stage lights are mounted in front of this row, and while they are below so they physically don't block your line of site, the blue lights on top of them disrupt your line of sight. Also, see others' comments on stairs and steepness of top balcony.
One of the many theaters on Broadway. A small but beautiful theater. I was happy to see *Some like it hot*.
Architecture is stunning, but seats are too tightly close to the backs of seats in front. My son and I are 6'2", and our knees were hitting the heads of those seated in front of us. This also means no room for our feet. Older halls like this can be challenging. Good thing we are a healthy weight or it may have been even more uncomfortable. Acoustics of the Shubert are quite good even from the
Needs renovation. Theres peeling paint, dust caked on ledges, and one persons wooden arm rest completely came apart from their chair. The drink service closed an hour before the show was over and there also wasnt an area to buy merchandise. Overall, this was clearly a very nice place for many years, but its now slowly crumbling and outdated.
Beautiful small theater. Great staff! Wish the restrooms weren’t always subterranean though.
Went to see one of my students in the Urban Nutcracker. The staff was courteous and super nice! Seats were a little snug, but enjoyed the experience!
